Where to Buy Seed Beads & Supplies
Of course we hope you shop our collection of bead mixes, Delica bead sets, jewelry findings, and supplies! But you'll want to branch out and explore other shops too.
To ensure quality, especially for bead weaving, we recommend sticking to brand name beads. We love Miyuki, but Toho is a good brand too. Czech seed beads are also very popular, but not quite as uniform as Japanese seed beads.
Buying beads in person is always a great experience. So if you have a local bead shop, go check them out!
Hobby stores sometimes carry Miyuki seed beads, including Michaels. So you can always check there. But please keep in mind they also carry cheap beads that aren't great for jewelry making, especially bead weaving and looming.
For online shopping, here are some shops our customers recommend:
High Street Beading Company (delica beads only)
Pacific Thread (beading kits)
Etsy - There are many sellers who sell quality seed beads and jewelry findings on Etsy. Be sure to carefully read the descriptions and reviews. Some listings may be misleading.
Michael's Online (Try not to get persuaded by the cheap no-brand beads. The quality is noticeably different. They may work for some crafts, but not great for jewelry making).
I suggest avoiding purchasing beads on Amazon. There may be a handful of reliable sellers, but listing descriptions are often misleading. Some items may mention Miyuki, but what you get in the mail says "Made in China." True Miyuki beads are made in Japan.
